A workshop you’d bend over backwards for!
In this 2.5 hour workshop we’ll explore the energetics of the heart, unravel tension in the spine and build strength with alignment and awareness to create safe and expansive heart opening asana (backbends). You’ll learn how to deepen your heart openers with targeted core strength, hip opening and spinal work.
We will break heart opening (note, your back shouldn’t bend but rather your spine should extend hence the term heart openers not backbends) down from the floor up starting with wheel pose and it’s many progressions as well as exploring more advanced transitions like chin-stands, full dancers and king-pigeon pose, dropbacks, and deeper asanas like full kapotasana.

All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced practitioners, whether you’re a bridge with a block or a full wheel kind of yogi there will be something for you.
YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH:
No jamming into your lower back! You’ll learn how to create a heart opening shape that’s lower back pain free.
A deeper understanding of the anatomy, function and intention of all heart opening poses and how to practice them intelligently for your body.
An understanding of how to progress your heart opening poses, from wheel poses to flip dogs to dropbacks and everything in between.
