Known as the 'King' and 'Queen' of all yoga postures, headstand and shoulderstand are considered to be the most powerful of all yoga poses. They are deeply therapeutic, healing and evoke transformative energies. At the same time, they are incredibly intricate and demand a high level of sensitivity and heightened awareness, especially with regards to the neck.
In this workshop, learn how to practice heandstand and shoulderstand safely and in a way that brings more vitality and health to your neck and body. We will use props, discuss anatomy, biomechanics and how to beneficially and safely integrate these inversions into your daily practice.
**Pre requisite: Must have been practicing yoga regularly for at least 6 months
Duncan has been instructing vinyasa yoga for over 10 years in Canada and abroad.
He has a keen eye for detail, gives direct instruction, balances his disciplined focus with lightheartedness, and teaches a strong smart sweaty practice. His teaching style is strongly influenced by Anusara, Ashtanga, Iyengar and SmartFlow yoga (alignment based vinyasa). He currently trains under and assists his teacher: Annie Carpenter, creator of SmartFlow Yoga.
