What draws you forward, motivates you? What do you feel life is asking of you? As a yogi, sharing your process, your practice from the heart requires clarity, honesty and integrity.

When we share from that authentic place, we create an opportunity to touch hearts - our own and others.

Sequencing with Intention is about sharing authentic, heartfelt yoga and creating classes that have an impact.

Whether you are here to listen more deeply, or free your sh*t, or learn about your own anatomy or find inner peace and tranquility or a myriad other reasons for being, your sequence can speak to that.

During this three day module on Sequencing we look at the mechanics of a ‘vinyasa’ yoga class and will show you ways to construct a sequence to achieve the intention of your practice.

Three major areas of focus for our training are:

  1. Sequencing to a peak posture

We’ll unpack how to prepare the body to achieve certain shapes, how to teach key actions, incorporate drills and progress difficulty

2. Creating Flow

We’ll create an understanding Flow State and discuss the benefits as well as show you how to incorporate Principles of Flow into sequences

3. Sequencing for an energetic purpose

We’ll investigate how energy moves from a western and eastern perspective and practice pranayama techniques and poses for soothing, for invigorating and for balancing

Whether your reason for sharing yoga is to allow the space for healing, or transformation or learning or something else besides, this training will help you to share your message and your practice in a potent, effective way.

This training is for 200 hour qualified yoga teachers and dedicated students who want to further their practice and deepen their understanding of sequencing. It’s also for aspiring teachers, ready to share the gift of yoga with others.

Are you…

  • A Yoga teacher looking for fresh inspiration for your classes?

  • A Yoga teacher looking to craft classes that are more intentional and purposeful?

  • A Yoga teacher looking for effective ways to share your message?

  • A Yoga student looking to create home practice sequences that align with your intention?

  • A Yoga student curious about how to progress towards specific postures?

  • A Yoga student curious about how to create flow state and the benefits?

  • A Yoga student curious about how energy moves and how to influence our energetic experience through breath and movement?

Then this training may be of benefit to you!

Chris has been sharing the practice of yoga and meditation since 2007. In his early days he fell head over heels in love with yoga as it brought peace and clarity to a turbulent mind. Chris hasn’t stopped learning and evolving his understanding. Among the many teachers he has studied with, Chris has been primarily inspired by Erich Schiffman and Richard Miller. He sees yoga as the simple intimacy with the truth of each moment.

Having lead over 15 200hr teacher trainings Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. He is most passionate about guiding teachers to teach from their heart, that is to listen and be guided by their authentic experience.

Chris was previously co-owner of Power Living Melbourne, and is now the founder of Yoke Yoga. Alongside sharing yoga and meditation his dharma is to be the best dad and husband he can be.

Ryan has been sharing his passion for yoga through teaching classes both in Australia and abroad, leading workshops and co-leading teacher trainings since 2014. Before teaching yoga, Ryan was a professional runner and multi-sport athlete so has always had a passion for movement. This is emphasised in his classes, which are high energy, strong and playful. His passion is flow and creative sequencing, providing students an opportunity to challenge themselves physically and mentally.

Kate Henry is a Senior Teacher at Yoke and is an E-RYT200 and E-RYT500 Yoga

Alliance registered teacher. Sharing breath and movement in a vibing room full of hot, sweaty, inspired and inspiring yogis makes her feel alive. But it’s the stuff that happens below the surface, the making peace with, and loving, her own humanity that brings her closer to understanding her own auspiciousness. By loving what is, just as it is, (nothing to fix, nothing to transcend) and being real and alive and human and in wonder of it all, there’s an opening to Grace. And this, for Kate, is yoga.

Yin Sequencing with Jen Crescenzo in Torquay

Yin Sequencing with Jen Crescenzo
23-25th November
Friday 23rd 6-8pm, Saturday 24th 11.30am - 5.30pm and Sunday 25th 11.30am - 5.30pm
Yoke Yoga Torquay
$460 (members 10% discount)

In this weekend training, we dive deeper into the physical and energetic anatomy of Yin Yoga.  Through lecture, demonstrations, and led Yin practice you will be introduced to two different body maps: the Anatomy Trains of Tom Myers and the Five Organ Networks of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  You will learn how to use these maps to organize and deliver powerful and effective Yin Yoga sequences.

The Yin method embraces the anatomy of connection and a Yin approach helps students feel how the joints of the feet, ankles, knees, hips, spine, hands, wrists, and shoulders are influenced by myofascial chains that coordinate movement and direct energy. An effective sequence can help students feel these chains and find the broken links where they have lost the ability to move naturally and efficiently. Understanding the way the muscles and connective tissues regulate the flow of energy in the body can also help us understand and feel the meridians mapped by Traditional Chinese Medicine.  An understanding of the meridians can help you describe the more subtle dimensions of the postures so that your sequences are influential on multiple levels.

Who is this training for?

For yoga teachers and students alike.

For yoga teachers, learning the Yin method can make you a more knowledgable and versatile yoga teacher and help you reach a more diverse group of students.

For yoga students, learning the Yin method can help you understand how your own body moves (or how and why it gets stuck!) so you can restore areas of your body compromised by over-training, injury, or a more sedentary lifestyle.

Yin Fundamentals with Jen Crescenzo

Feb 9, 10, 11, Torquay
Friday night 6 - 8pm
Saturday 11 - 5:30pm
Sunday 11 - 5:30pm

This course covers foundational anatomy and Yin philosophy and postures and experimentation in the "Posture Lab" to discover creative ways to vary or modify postures for a safe, sustainable, and effective practice.

Yin Yoga is first and foremost the decision to experience your body as an integrated whole.
Yin moves you slowly into postures to feel what limits you when you go to reach, twist, bend, or extend.  Through the Yin method you gradually recover lost ranges of motion and explore new territory in your body and mind.

Over two weekends at Yoke Yoga in Torquay join Jennifer Crescenzo to learn about this essential practice.

Thank you for this profound gift.” -Kathryn Wiese, Certified Anusara Yoga Instructor, Kirtan Wallah and Director of There’s No Place Like OM Yoga Studio, Waimea, Hawaii
