I discovered yoga at the age of 16 when a friend of my parents was visiting from the US and had a regular practice.
I had never heard of yoga before and became intrigued with what she was up to every morning and began joining her in her practice.
I completed my first 300 hour teacher training in 2014 with Sally Louise Yoga Sanctuary, and last year completed the 200 hour yoke teacher training with Chris Wilson and Kate Henry at Yoke. This year I explored the yin Practice with Jen Crescenzo in her foundational workshop, and in August I will be travelling to India to spend a month at the Govardhan Ecovillage where I will explore another 200 hour training. Also on the calendar this year is the 300 hour trauma sensitive yoga course which I do the 20 hour pre course for this weekend, then commence the 300 hour training in September. So I am super excited to stretch my self and deepen my personal practice and my teaching through these experiences.
Other than teaching yoga, I run a retreat space from my quarter acre block in Jan Juc called Desa retreat where I live with my three children. Here I offer super relaxing accommodation, home cooked garden to table meals and private yoga to guests. I am a passionate gardener with a vision to grow and feed my family and guests fresh organic home grown produce as much as possible. Music is also a passion of mine and I enjoy singing and playing the guitar and uke at various functions and events on the Surfcoast as part of a duo called Firebirds.
