Back to Teachers

Kara Wheatley

I was reluctantly dragged into a yoga class 6 years ago and it didn’t take long for me to become hooked. There was just something about stepping onto that mat day in and day out.  After only a year I set off to do my training in New York with Baron Baptiste and Laughing Lotus.

My favourite part of teaching and at the risk of sounding like a “yoga teacher”,  it’s the students. They are my biggest inspiration. Watching every part of their journey starting from curiosity to resistance, the fear, the tears and the triumphs.

A few of my favourite things are:

What turns you on about yoga?
Community. Practicing and working with people who encourage, support and appreciate every little happy, broken and weird piece of you.

South Melb Café:
Im loving “Giddiup” at the moment. They had me at buttering my toast!

Movie and/or Book:
The Alchemist. Only book I have read more than once.

Ice-Cream Flavour:
Im gonna say it and I am not ashamed… I don’t like ice cream. *insert shocked emoji*

My English Staffy, Danko of course!! I also love Elephants and Pigs.

Wine appreciation…

Hidden Talent:
I don’t think I have one!
